What are the luckiest items for your home in 2023

The interiors of your home can have a profound effect on your mental well-being, with 69% of homeowners stating that the design of their home influences their mental health. But which household items and colours can we inject into our homes this year, to optimise the feelings of comfort and luck within our living space?

With this in mind, Slot Tracker wanted to find out which colours and items can bring the most luck and peace to our homes by investigating Feng Shui, and working with expert Psychic Inbaal Honigman.

The LUCKIEST items for your home this year:

1. Turtle ornaments

Turtle figurines or symbols hold powerful meanings of safety and lucky characteristics. In fact, the turtle is one of Feng Shui’s four celestial guardians, representative of luck, longevity, security, and success. There are five types of lucky turtles in Feng Shui, meaning you can choose the right one for your home and needs. For example, it is believed that a metal turtle should be set in a north or northwest direction, which can help draw good luck into children’s lives, and increase concentration. Alternatively, if you want to generate luck within your career, it is recommended to face the turtle towards the main door of your house.

Expert Psychic Inbaal shared with Slot Tracker, “Turtles are seen as very special animals, known for their endurance and long life. Their strong build, and ability to survive, position them as very lucky and wise in popular culture. In Feng Shui, turtle ornaments are some of the most prized spiritual items, and they can be used as home protection when placed outside, or to promote abundance if one is placed atop a stack of coins.”

2. Incense

Incense can help your home achieve a sense of relaxation to your home, as well as cleanse it of all types of negative energy. Believers have noted that different incense scents can achieve different types of lucky tasks – Sandalwood for example, is popular due to its calming effects which can produce a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for meditation.

Expert Psychic Inbaal says, “Feng Shui is all about the flow of energy, and incense is used as a tool within this philosophy, to help balance this flow. Different fragrances of incense promote different qualities within the house, such as lavender for health and cedar for protection, but the general use of the incense in Feng Shui is to promote balance and cleansing.”

3. Acorns

We may not know it, but acorns are commonly associated with protection and power and are known to be the luckiest nut in the world – this mainly results from the great, enduring oak tree from which they fall. Acorns can not only serve as bearers of luck and protection, but also eternal youth. Many add them into bowls or have some along their windowsill.

Inbaal says, “The acorn represents potential. Such a small seed can grow into an enormous oak tree, meaning that elements in your life have untapped potential. Your wealth and knowledge can expand. A bowl of acorns in the corner of your home can give your finances a boost.”

The LUCKIEST colours for your home this year:

1. Forest Green

Forest Green has recently been announced as the lucky colour of the year. In Feng Shui, this shade represents good fortune, prosperity, vitality, renewal, and abundance, and is thought to bring these qualities into your home space. This shade has also been connected to achieving mental and physical balance, harmonising the mind and body.

Inbaal told Slot Tracker, “All the shades of Green fall under the Feng Shui element of wood. It represents family, so in the home, this colour would promote harmony between different family members, and even healthy childbirth, anything to do with family connections. The element of wood also stands for wealth, health and prosperity.”

2. Dark Blue

Dark blue is believed to promote calmness, clear thinking and communication, and is often used in Feng Shui to enhance knowledge. This may be a particularly good shade to implement into your living space if you work from home, due to its calming, knowledgeable traits.

Inbaal says, “All shades of blue fall under the Feng Shui element of earth. It represents knowledge, so in the home, this would promote studies or homework. The element of earth also stands for stability and health, helping inhabitants of the house feel secure.”

3. Pink fuchsia

Implementing pink into your home can also provide calming effects. In Feng Shui, pink represents love, compassion, and kindness, and is also thought to be nurturing to the mind and body simultaneously. This colour may be particularly lucky in promoting love and compassion in your living space.

Inbaal says, “The colour pink falls under the Feng Shui element of earth in the relationship corner. It represents love, marriage, and romantic relationships, so this colour would bring more love into the house, or strengthen the love that is already there. The element of earth also stands for security, so this colour allows members of the household to feel safe and stable.”
