Armis acquires Silk Security to incorporate best in class security prioritisation and remediation into Armis Centrix™

Armis creates the first true AI-driven Cyber Threat Exposure Management platform as it builds AI Cybersecurity powerhouse

Armis, the asset intelligence cybersecurity company, today announced it has acquired Silk Security, the leading platform for cyber risk prioritization and remediation.

Armis has acquired Silk Security for a total of $150M, and will integrate the Silk Platform into the Armis Centrix™ AI based Vulnerability Prioritisation and Remediation solution to supercharge its capabilities and now be able to provide security teams with a consolidated view of security findings that encompass all sources of data from on prem devices to cloud compute, code, and application security tools, and fully manage and automate remediation.

“Global enterprises and governments need a platform that can address the entire lifecycle of cybersecurity threats,” said Yevgeny Dibrov, CEO and Co-Founder, Armis. “Given today’s complicated, dynamic threat landscape, legacy technologies and point solutions are no longer fit for purpose. To ensure the entire attack surface is both defended and managed in real time, organizations need a comprehensive solution that quantifies and reduces risk continually through the ability to prioritize and remediate the most important security findings at any given time, in any environment.”

Silk Security was founded in 2022 by three security professionals: Yoav Nathaniel, CEO, Or Priel, CPO and Bar Katz, CTO, who all saw first-hand how frustrating the current process of alert remediation is for practitioners, operational teams, and business stakeholders. Silk Security raised $12.5M from Insight Partners, the Crowdstrike Falcon fund and Hetz Ventures.

“We are extremely excited to be joining forces with Armis and to have the opportunity to bring our technology into the Armis solution stack. Organizations across the world are struggling to address increasing concerns about security risks to ensure business continuity. These concerns can be resolved by creating proactive strategies to identify, manage and reduce those risks,” said Yoav Nathaniel, CEO and Co-Founder, Silk Security. “Customers of Silk Security and Armis are going to have an accelerated advantage in the use of our technology with this unprecedented integration, benefiting from a holistic approach for exposure management that works even for the most complex organizations.”

By acquiring Silk Security, Armis Centrix™ will now encompass all sources of data including on prem, code, cloud and application security tools. This will provide security and developer teams a consolidated view into any security findings and will empower them to manage the remediation process in an effective way, thus providing a complete cyber threat exposure management.

“Silk Security’s technology in combination with Armis Centrix™ is revolutionary. It provides a highly efficient way to close the gap between detecting security findings and fixing them,” said Nadir Izrael, CTO and Co-Founder, Armis. “Eliminating lag times when it comes to cybersecurity is essential – it’s the difference between effectively remediating risk and blocking threats, and a potential breach. Armis is committed to continued technological innovation as it’s the only way to combat the increasingly sophisticated attacks of malicious cybercriminals.”

Capabilities of Armis Centrix™ for Vulnerability Prioritisation and Remediation

Armis Centrix™ for Vulnerability Prioritization and Remediation provides advanced visualization and alerts that empower organizations with actionable intelligence before a vulnerability is announced, before an attack is even launched and before an organization is impacted.

Key capabilities added to Armis Centrix™ with this acquisition include:

  • Gain Full Situational Awareness – All assets, devices, and code pipeline down to an extremely granular level, and fully brand agnostic whether physical or cloud based
  • Identify Risk – Get alerted to policy violations, questionable events, behaviours and vulnerabilities
  • Automate Prioritization – Clearly determine and assign remediation priorities on alerts and vulnerabilities based on the evaluation of environmental factors, asset intelligence, custom metadata, and configurable risk severity
  • Consolidate and Organize Security Findings – Bring order to the findings chaos (including CVEs, misconfigurations, EOL software, licensing issues, web app vulnerabilities, audit findings, network risks and so on), via agentless API integrations that ingest, aggregate and correlate findings eliminates duplicate alerts from multiple tools and allows teams to sort findings and group findings based on relationships
  • Identify High Impact Fixes – Pinpoint the earliest point in the code pipeline where a fix will resolve the largest number of related run-time and production security issues
  • Identify Remediation Owners – Predictively assign ownership for prioritized fixes based on automated mapping, with ongoing AI-based refinement based on operations feedback
  • Centralized Reporting – Understand how your teams and the tools they are using are performing through a consolidated dashboard, and measure the effectiveness of the remediation process
  • Complete Risk Resolution Communication Workflows – scale operations with bi-directional collaboration, integrations, and advanced embedded workflows that enable self-service for risk resolutions. Development and IT personnel can now remediate or manage their findings without having to always involve the security team.
