2024 marks a tremendous year when the Chinese market is undergoing deep transformation from an investment, export and property led growth to innovation and consumption led economy. However both international and domestic brands are highlighting challenges in the Chinese market as growth slows down and online traffic becomes increasingly expensive.
Middle class consumers who used to be pillars of Chinese consumption upgrade are now quieting down and experiencing downgrade of spend. Still there is no one conclusion that best reflect the sheer size of China market.

The inner recovery of China’s E-commerce industry is underway, as platforms and governments crack down on low quality, misleading marketing activities, and shifting away from low-price to better quality. Consumers increasing interest in health and outdoor activities are also driving international business growth.
