Hackney based One Hundred Sports Group is set to continue its collaboration with The Alternative Board, a local business advisory group fostering guidance and support among entrepreneurs. Following the company’s successful pitch on Dragons’ Den earlier this month, it is now poised for rapid expansion.
One Hundred Sports Group has been at the forefront of endurance trail running, notably establishing the Endurance Trail World Championship and organising 11 races that have drawn over 4,000 athletes worldwide.
The swift endorsement of their venture on Dragons’ Den has provided the impetus for One Hundred Sports Group to accelerate its growth trajectory. While the company is thrilled to have shared the special moment with renowned entrepreneur Steven Bartlett, it remains committed to its ongoing partnership with The Alternative Board (TAB) West London.
Joᾶo Andrade, CEO of One Hundred Sports Group, alongside the company’s COO João de Saldanha, have been active members of TAB since the filming of Dragon’s Den last year. Engaging in monthly peer boards alongside fellow entrepreneurs in London, Joᾶo de Saldanha has diligently prepared for the imminent scale-up of the business following the TV show’s airing.
“Many people are unaware that our Dragons’ Den episode was filmed in 2023,” noted Joᾶo Andrade. “Although we shook hands with Steven Bartlett’s last spring, we couldn’t commence talking about Dragons’ Den until after the show aired. This delay has been beneficial, allowing us to have many months to lay the groundwork for scaling the business with TAB.”
