How are you celebrating Valentine’s Day? Love comes in many forms, including our friends and family so Animals Asia encourages everyone to celebrate with their loved ones – whoever they may be this Pal-entine’s Day!
Love isn’t just for Valentine’s Day – it’s for Palentine’s (or Galentine’s) too! At Animals Asia’s sanctuaries in Vietnam, our rescued moon and sun bears are celebrating the most precious bond of all: their friendship. After years of solitude in tiny cages in cruel bile farms, these incredible bears have not only found freedom, but also lifelong pals to share it with at our sanctuaries.
From playful wrestling matches to cosy afternoon naps, the bears have formed unbreakable friendships. Enjoy our image gallery of some of our inseparable bears and their gentle companionship as they relax side by side, or prefer a friendly play and tussle. Whether it’s sharing a snack, enjoying a bear-sized cuddle, or simply foraging together, their friendships are a testament to love in its purest form.

These moments of joy wouldn’t be possible without the kindness of our supporters. Many of these bears have spent decades in isolation, caged and suffering for use in the bear bile industry. But thanks to Animals Asia, they now have the chance to heal, thrive, and form the deep bonds they were always meant to have.
Animals Asia has rescued 700 bears and is on the verge of ending bear bile farming in Vietnam for good. At our award-winning sanctuaries, these bears receive the love, care, and companionship they deserve. Every day, they experience the simple joys of life – together.
This Palentine’s Day, let’s celebrate the power of friendship. Because for these bears, love isn’t just in the air, it’s in every playful paw swipe, every shared treat, and every moment of freedom they now cherish.
The generosity and kindness of our supporters helps us continue to rescue and provide lifelong care for these incredible animals, giving them a future filled with friendship and love. Happy Pal-entine’s Day to everybody and we hope you have as great a day as our bears do with their pals each and every day they live free, happy and peacefully.
