Swiss Butter expands UK footprint with two new London restaurants

Swiss Butter Announces Two New London Restaurants as South Kensington Opens This Weekend

The cult-favourite dining concept continues its international expansion, with Shoreditch to follow after a successful Paris debut.

London’s dining scene is welcoming another helping of Swiss Butter. The internationally renowned restaurant concept, celebrated for its famous secret sauce and refreshingly simple menu, is opening its second UK restaurant in South Kensington this weekend, with a third London location in Shoreditch planned for later this year.

Located at 128 Gloucester Road, the new restaurant will begin welcoming diners on 7 November, ahead of its official launch in December. The opening marks Swiss Butter’s 22nd restaurant worldwide and another significant milestone in its international expansion.

One Dish, One Secret Sauce

In a city where restaurants compete with increasingly elaborate menus, Swiss Butter has built its reputation by doing things differently.

Founded by entrepreneur Eddy Massaad, the concept revolves around one signature dish, offering diners a choice of beef, chicken or salmon, accompanied by golden fries, a fresh side salad and the brand’s famous Swiss Butter sauce.

The secret recipe has become something of a signature attraction, helping the restaurant develop a loyal international following.

Rather than offering an extensive menu, Swiss Butter focuses on consistency, quality ingredients and a straightforward dining experience. It’s a formula that has proved popular across international markets, demonstrating that simplicity can be a powerful ingredient in restaurant success.

From London to Paris

The South Kensington opening follows the success of Swiss Butter’s debut UK restaurant in Holborn, which introduced London diners to the brand’s distinctive concept.

In October, Swiss Butter also celebrated its Paris debut, opening at 13 Rue du Faubourg Montmartre in the French capital’s 9th arrondissement.

The Paris launch marked another important chapter in the brand’s European expansion, bringing its signature dining experience to one of the world’s most celebrated culinary destinations.

Now, with South Kensington opening this weekend and Shoreditch expected to follow before the end of 2026, the brand is strengthening its presence in the UK capital.

The two new openings will bring Swiss Butter’s London portfolio to three restaurants, positioning the business for its next phase of growth.

What’s Next for Swiss Butter?

Swiss Butter’s continued expansion reflects the growing appeal of international dining concepts that combine recognisable branding with a focused, accessible offering.

From Holborn to Paris and now South Kensington, the brand has demonstrated how a distinctive concept can translate across different cities and dining cultures.

For South Kensington diners, the wait is almost over. Whether discovering Swiss Butter for the first time or returning for another helping of its famous sauce, the new Gloucester Road restaurant promises to bring its established dining experience to another corner of London.
