In a bid to break down social barriers for students (as the next generation of professionals), Wiseup and Generali are proud to announce their partnership on the Pathfinder Programme. This programme provides tailored mentoring and invaluable work experience opportunities to 16-17 year old students who feel they lack social connections to gain a true foothold in their careers. The outcome of such programmes is to set students up on the path to success in their careers thanks to the real-world experience gleaned.
Wiseup – experts in mentoring, have teamed up with Generali, a leading business insurance company for this innovative initiative. Designed to offer students the support and skills they need to kickstart their careers, each mentee will have 1-2-1 access to their very own confidant in the form of their mentor. Having been matched and trained on best practices for mentoring students, the Generali mentors will go into the programme prepared to support their mentees throughout the work placement and beyond.
Tailored mentoring is the standout element of the programme, with each student getting direct access to their mentor in the lead up to, during and after the work experience. The mentors will be there to provide guidance, support, and insights into their chosen field. The 1-2-1 mentoring will be pivotal in allowing the students to make the most out of their experience, stepping foot into Generali’s London offices with ease.
The mentors will be tasked with helping students navigate the complexities of the professional world, whilst setting the scene for them to develop the necessary skills to thrive. The work placement will allow students the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience, including shadowing experienced professionals, participating in engaging workshops, and gaining practical experience in a real-world work environment. This immersive experience will not only help students build their skills and knowledge but also provide them with invaluable insights into the workings of a global business.
The Pathfinder Programme will see five mentors paired with five mentees, allowing for a dynamic group of like-minded, talented and driven students to learn from their supportive community at Generali. The programme’s ultimate aim is to dismantle social barriers and provide young people with the support they need to succeed.
