It may be March and the daffodils are out but its still cold outside and the perfect cheat meal is still a delicious slice of heaven, a Pizza of course!
London is full of fabulous Pizza restaurants who just get that slice perfectly right with some curious toppings and delicious bases. Paired with a cocktail or a glass of bubbles it’s the perfect antidote to this mad march weather!
I love LA and ive found this fabulous restaurant which is going to become a regular for me. From all the way across the pond, 800 Degrees Pizza showcases the laid-back nature of LA with quick-fire pizzas that will satisfy all your hunger cravings without breaking the bank. Located in the fun-tastic venue, Gravity Wandsworth, the classic pizza party has been brought to the 21st Century and is not one to miss out on. There are really delicious 800 Degrees’ classic combinations such as the double pepperoni and BBQ chicken with my fave peppadews, red onion and cilantro, alongside drinks from Gravity’s Newtons cocktail bar, which launched in 2022
Now when you want a delicious pizza like nonna used to make then there is only one place to go and that’s Cinquencento Pizzeria and they have just opened in Soho so it means you can swing by before or after seeing a fabulous show in the West End. I just love how generous they are with their fabulous toppings. Their Bosco one with a whole creamy mozzarella and cured ham is sensational to eat but also totally instagrammable too!
A central London restaurant with the most delicious made-to-order pizzas is Vapiano; using only the freshest ingredients. Vapiano is known for their fan-favourite hyper-customisable menus. From made-to-order sourdough pizza bases, the simple tomato sauce with Emilia Romagna tomatoes, to the range of premium toppings, there is something for everyone. So whether you want to bring the heat with dried chilli flakes or add extra prawns, the choice is yours, with everything on the menu under £15! Tottenham Court Road restaurant, Tower Bridge, Oxford Circus or the recently opened, Paddington branch.
One of my favourite places over lockdown was Pizza Pilgrims and it’s still my favourite with its slow-proven Neapolitan pizza that’s perfect for delivery with Pizza in the Post or to share with friends. All of their dough is made fresh, daily, sourcing the best ingredients Italy has to offer in order to bring the best possible pizza base going. As any Neapolitan will tell you – it’s all about the crust well that’s what I was told! They have this insane new pizza with crazy toppings of chips and sausage an ode to our American friends. It is delicious and hits the right places. features a bechamel base with lots of gooey mozzarellas and none other than FRENCH FRIES and FRANKFURTERS on top.
Whilst it might look like a crazy combo it’s actually a traditional delicacy in Naples as an ode to its ongoing love for yanks.
