Channel 4’s popular overseas home-buying show, ‘Sun, Sea and Selling Houses’, is known for sharing the joys of property hunting in Spain. However, the show’s just-launched new series, which began airing on 4 April 2022, has looked beyond Spain, heading to Portugal’s sunny Algarve for the first time.
Welcoming the Sun, Sea and Selling Houses team to the Algarve was real estate agency Ideal Homes Portugal, whose staff were delighted to show off the highlights of this beautiful part of the world.

Portugal has become an increasingly popular destination for visitors from the UK over recent years. Back in 2009, 1.91 million visits were made by Britons to Portugal. By 2019, the number of visits had shot up to 3.31 million. As visitor numbers have grown, so too has Britons’ appetite for property in Portugal – hence Sun, Sea and Selling Houses turning its attention to the Algarve.
Ideal Homes Portugal’s Chairman and Founder Chris White was joined by CEO Angela Worrall, Claire Wheatley (Currency Specialist) and other team members to show buyers around homes that will be featured in episodes airing on Channel 4 at 5 pm BST on 25th and 27th April and 2nd, 4th and 5th May.
Numerous Algarve destinations will be showcased during the series, including the characterful town of Lagos. Historic buildings, independent shops, restaurants serving local specialities and buzzing bars after dark make Lagos a great place to visit and a great place to live. The town is also home to incredible beaches, from the miles of sand at Meia Praia to the famous clear waters and cliffs of Praia da Dona Ana, along with a stunning marina.
