The Chestertons International Foundation (CIF), established by Chairman Salah Mussa originally to address challenges to social mobility within the UK, has unveiled its ambitious Global Impact Initiative, a campaign aimed at empowering the most vulnerable communities worldwide through access to basic human needs.
The Foundation’s flagship program seeks to identify and partner with the ‘diamonds in the rough’ – smaller organisations that are delivering projects with profound, life-long impact on the individuals and communities they serve.
One such charitable gem is IMET2000 who provides specialist medical care in areas of extreme deprivation. In just 6 months, funding from CIF and has already restored sight to 240 individuals living in extreme poverty through access to life-changing cataract surgeries. For many of these individuals, this simple procedure has marked the difference between dependence and independence, enabling them to return to work, support their families, and regain their dignity.

In addition to transforming lives through medical care, the Foundation continues to invest in the futures of vulnerable children. In Uganda, 150 orphans have received food, shelter, education, and psychological support through the Foundation’s partnership with Spotlight on Africa. Plans are already underway to sponsor an additional 50 children in 2025, ensuring they have access to the resources they require to thrive.
Efforts extend to Gaza, where the Foundation has supported 12 orphaned children through the Taawon Welfare Association, securing access to a safe and stable environment in which they can grow and learn until the age of 18. These initiatives are part of CIF’s broader mission to create a world where every child has the opportunity to dream beyond their circumstances, and to hope for a future living with independence and dignity.
The Foundation’s presence at the recent Chestertons Global Annual Conference in Dubai highlighted the growing potential for global partnerships. Trustees, including British entrepreneur Alison Cooper who presented on behalf of the Foundation, urged Chestertons affiliates and partners from over 20 offices across 4 continents to bring forward local causes for collaboration, harnessing the tools of the Global Network to reach communities in every corner of the world.
