Newly launched CLOWD9 joins Fintech Trade Mission to North America, in partnership with The Mayor’s International Business Programme

CLOWD9, the world’s first cloud-native and decentralized payments processing platform, has joined the Mayor’s International Business Programme, representing London’s fintech sector, as part of a delegation visiting New York on a trade mission from Monday 17th October to Friday 21st October.

The Business Programme, led by London & Partners, helps ambitious London-based start-ups scale and grow internationally into new markets, through a 12-month accelerator programme. Part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the programme provides a mentoring scheme, workshops and events, as well as engagement and collaboration opportunities with leading global organisations.

The trade mission to New York is one of many included in the programme and is an opportunity for the selected London-based founders to connect with business leaders and customers around the world, connecting with leading international corporates, such as Microsoft, Mastercard, First Republic Bank, Morgan Stanley, Stripe, JP Morgan and Bank of Montreal. Networking receptions with Fintech leaders and roundtable sessions with venture capital firms round out the five-day programme.

CLOWD9’s participation in the trade mission follows its recent launch. Founded by a team of payments experts supported and advised by experienced finance executives and entrepreneurs, the platform was created to transform the technology that underpins the global payments system, providing banks and fintechs with unrivalled controls, flexibility, functionality and data with global coverage by design. Its investor base includes former partners at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Vantage Capital Markets.

Suresh Vaghjiani, CEO, CLOWD9, said: “We’re proud to have been selected to represent the UK’s innovative fintech sector during the 2022 New York trade mission, as part of the Mayor’s International Business Programme. It comes at an exciting time for our business, following our formal launch earlier this week. Our platform is global by design and the US is a key market for us so we look forward to further capitalising on the opportunities and networks presented by the Programme. The UK’s fintech sector continues to see rapid growth, and programmes such as this one are an important part of its success story, helping to equip ambitious start-ups, such as ourselves, to build presence globally.”

Laura Citron, CEO, London & Partners said: “We’re excited to welcome CLOWD9 to cohort 24 of our award winning Mayor’s International Business Programme. CLOWD9 have built a ground breaking, cloud native, global processing platform so we are delighted that they will be representing London’s fintech sector as part of a trade mission to the US. Over the next 12 months of the programme, CLOWD9 will be offered new opportunities to grow their business by exploring new markets and accessing support and advice from some of the UK’s most successful leaders and mentors.”
