From science to business via Cambridge: The inspiring journey of Igor Ivitskiy, Doctor Ads

London is renowned as a global hub where talented minds from around the world converge to innovate, create, and revolutionise. Today, we sit down with Igor Ivitskiy—also known as Doctor Ads—a renowned scientist and digital marketing pioneer who recently transitioned from Ukraine to the heart of the UK’s bustling entrepreneurial scene, bringing science into the art of advertising.

Describing one memorable moment, Igor recalls:

“My journey started very far from digital marketing,” Igor admits with a warm smile. “I was a scientist, deeply involved in mathematics and physics, developing patents and publishing academic papers in Ukraine. Science was my world.”

Indeed, Igor’s accomplishments in Ukraine were impressive. Awarded as Ukraine’s Young Scientist of the Year, with numerous academic publications and over 50 patents, he was at the peak of his scientific career. But curiosity, ambition, and perhaps fate, drew him toward an entirely new challenge: business.

“After achieving what I set out in science, I felt something was missing. I wanted my knowledge to have a direct impact on people’s daily lives, to reach beyond academic circles,” Igor reflects. “This urge led me straight to the University of Cambridge, an institution that symbolises innovation and excellence.”

Enrolling in “The Pillars of Business Success” programme at the University of Cambridge ICE was transformative. Igor found himself among an eclectic group of leading entrepreneurs from across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America.

“When you sit in a classroom at Cambridge, you’re not just learning theories,” Igor emphasises. “You’re sharing insights with entrepreneurs who have already changed the world, some of the most brilliant minds globally. Every conversation there is enlightening.”

Describing one memorable moment, Igor recalls:

“One evening, after class, we discussed business processes with colleagues from Nigeria, Brazil, and Malaysia. It was astonishing how universal certain business truths are, yet how distinct their execution must be across cultures. This really opened my eyes to global marketing.”

Inspired by his newfound knowledge and the dynamic environment at Cambridge, Igor founded Doctor Ads, a company dedicated to integrating rigorous scientific methods into digital advertising. The approach quickly attracted attention.

“In marketing, creativity is essential, but precise, data-driven decision-making can multiply your success exponentially,” Igor explains. “At Doctor Ads, we apply mathematical precision to digital campaigns, ensuring every pound spent on ads delivers the maximum return.”

His scientific background gives Igor an unusual advantage. “I approach every marketing problem as a scientist would—observe, hypothesise, test, analyse, repeat,” he says. This methodical approach has rapidly earned Doctor Ads a reputation among clients and peers alike.

Discussing his time at Cambridge, Igor is reflective. “My experience at Cambridge wasn’t just educational. It fundamentally changed how I think about business. Before, I saw business as a completely separate world from science. Now, I understand they’re deeply interconnected.”

The future looks bright for Doctor Ads. Already serving a global clientele and expanding operations, Igor feels his journey has just begun. He credits much of his confidence and strategic vision to his Cambridge education and the global network he cultivated there.

“Looking ahead, my goal is simple: keep innovating, keep bringing value,” Igor declares passionately. “Whether you’re running a small startup or a multinational enterprise, the scientific approach to marketing is a game-changer. I’m here to ensure everyone benefits from it.”

As our conversation concludes, it’s clear that Igor Ivitskiy’s journey—from award-winning scientist in Ukraine to visionary entrepreneur in the UK—is one of passion, adaptability, and the powerful intersection between rigorous science and bold business innovation.

“The best ideas happen at the crossroads of disciplines,” Igor concludes thoughtfully. “Cambridge taught me that. And I’m excited to keep exploring this intersection. The journey is just beginning.”
