The UK’s largest annual celebration of African property and lifestyle, the Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo (GPLE), hit a record number of attendees this year as hundreds of property investors look to explore Ghana’s booming real estate market.
Organised by On Point Property Management Ltd founders and sisters Anna and Victoria Agyekum, the Expo showcased the latest developments and opportunities for property investment in Ghana, which has seen unprecedented growth in tourism and real estate demand.
With UK property prices around 8.3 times the annual earnings of a full-time employee, first-time and experienced property investors are taking advantage of lower property prices and the accessible process for diaspora mortgages to make dreams of owning property in West Africa a reality.
Director and co-founder Victoria Agyekum said:
“Since 2017, GPLE has become the go-to annual event for diaspora and international investors, driving wealth-building opportunities through property ownership in West Africa.
“Both myself and Anna have seen a huge shift in peoples’ financial planning and lifestyle ambitions to purchase property in Ghana and be part of the country’s growth and prosperity. We live now where it’s possible to have dual living in two continents; and people are ceasing this opportunity to live a life that would once have been just an impossible reality.”
The 8th Expo in London welcomed keynote speaker Diana Afriyie Addo, Head of Trade and Investment Ghana High Commission UK & Ireland and Marsha de Cordova MP, Battersea attended the Expo.
His Lordship, Justice Barima Yaw Kodie Oppong, Director of Legal Education, Ghana School of Law, and Justice of the Court of Appeal of Ghana who also attended as a Keynote speaker and guest panellist at the Expo said; “The Ghana Property & Lifestyle Expo instils confidence in buyers, eliminating concerns about trust and transparency in property transactions. On Point Property has thoughtfully eased the burden on investors by assembling a reputable network that ensures secure and successful land and property acquisitions.
“I am delighted to be here to endorse this vital initiative and to participate in an event that strengthens the future of Ghana’s real estate sector.”
The Expo, which will next arrive in North Ridge, Ghana on Monday, December 16th, has seen over 1,500 property investors attend so far.
Mr Mawutor Alifo, Minister/Head of Chancery, Ghana High Commission, Keynote speaker at the Expo said,
“For the past eight years, the Ghana High Commission in the UK and Ireland has proudly supported these two entrepreneurial sisters who are making a tremendous impact on Ghana’s real estate sector.
“The High Commission remains fully committed to supporting the Expo every year as it continues to empower Ghanaians abroad and foster sustainable development within the country.”
Speaking about why the Expo is such a global success, Director and co-founder of On Point Property Anna Agyekum said,
“Each year, we welcome a variety of people who are looking to invest in Ghana but don’t know how to actually do it – and they leave with a practical guidance and support so they can navigate the legal path to make their dreams a reality.
“We will be back in London next Autumn to help even more people take that important first step to own a property in Ghana; and help West Africa’s economic boom continue.”
