London’s environmental community gathered for the premiere of a ground-breaking documentary showcasing Chile’s position as third best in the world in climate leadership.
Last night, in the same week the IPPC released its latest assessment report, an influential audience of British and Chilean environmental filmmakers, activists, influencers, and dignitaries gathered at the Everyman, King’s Cross for the London premiere of the highly anticipated environmental documentary, ‘I am The Earth. Stories from the Southern Edge of the World’ which officially launches on Prime UK today.
Premiere attendees included: Arizona Muse DIRT Charity Founder & Model, Climate Activist Dominique Palmer, Rossana Dresdner, Executive Director of Fundacion Imagen de Chile and Susana Herrera, the Chilean Ambassador to the UK.
Produced by Oscar-winning production company Fábula and directed by Oscar-nominated director Maite Alberd, Chile’s acclaimed cinematographic talent, ‘I am The Earth. Stories from the Southern Edge of the World’ presents the stories of Chilean men and women who are leading concrete actions to mitigate the climate crisis, from different parts of this elongated country in South America’s Southern Cone.
The film takes the viewer on a journey through different initiatives and cases where Chilean men and women are contributing to mitigate the effects of climate change, from large-scale projects and scientific innovations to everyday citizen actions, all of which are collectively necessary. The documentary focuses on five thematic areas: sustainable agriculture; forest and biodiversity conservation; renewable energy; the water crisis; and astronomy.
Following the screening of the documentary, an exclusive and lively roundtable Q & A was chaired by Dominique Palmer with protagonists from the film including;
- Cristián Sjögren, Co-founder and CEO of AgroUrbana, Co-founder and CEO of AgroUrbana, vice president of the Chile California Council and member of Fundación Chile’s ChileGlobal Ventures Mentoring Network and of Founder of Solar Chile
