London is the heart of the UK’s theatre world, and the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) is excited to host its audition workshops right in the capital. London offers a wealth of opportunities for young performers, and NYMT’s workshops provide a gateway into the professional music theatre industry.
NYMT’s London auditions are open to young people aged 10-23, offering a platform for actors, singers, dancers, and musicians to showcase their talents. These workshops are led by experienced professionals who are passionate about helping the next generation of performers succeed. Each session is designed to offer participants invaluable experience and personalised feedback that will set them up for future success.
As part of the 2025 programme, NYMT will be offering a wide range of exciting productions, including Fame The Musical, Tuck Everlasting, and Lightning Boy, alongside various creative workshops and new works such as Flip and The Great Moon Hoax. The year ahead will also offer opportunities for emerging composers, writers, and producers through NYMT’s workshops and courses.
The National Youth Music Theatre has nurtured countless talented performers who have gone on to achieve success in the professional world. Famous alumni include Idris Elba, known for his roles in Luther and The Wire, and Rosy Church, who has starred in Les Misérables in the West End.
Alongside these workshops, NYMT’s 2025 programme will feature a stellar line-up of productions, including Fame The Musical, Carousel, Tuck Everlasting, and Lightning Boy. The programme also includes creative workshops for emerging composers, lyricists, and other theatre makers, as well as new commissions and projects like Carmilla and Stagshaw Fayre.
Kerry Ellis, new patron of NYMT, shares: “I am beyond proud and honoured to be a new patron of the NYMT. I had such an amazing time when I was younger, and it really made a difference in my future. I’m proud to have been part of one of their shows and hope lots of other young people have the opportunity to experience what I did.”
