Just over the Essex border and into Sudbury in Suffolk, you will find Ballingdon Hall, a 16th Century Grade II listed Elizabethan Manor House set in 20 acres of tranquil grounds that invite you to unwind. Recently transformed into a wellness retreat, it now offers residential stays and one-day workshops that rejuvenate the mind, body and soul.
Immersed in nature and with a house steeped in history, the environment at Ballingdon Hall is ideal for personal enrichment, growth and healing. This 11-bedroom house retains its impressive historic grandeur yet seamlessly merges with the comforting feel of a much-loved family home. The periodic features have been thoughtfully enhanced by adding modern and stylish accessories that blend together beautifully. From the moment you step inside, you can feel a sense of the mind and body unfolding and letting go.
The owners, Dr Khan and wife Lesley Reynolds, founded The Harley Street Skin Clinic, an award-winning cosmetic and plastic surgery clinic. Offering both surgical and non-surgical treatments, the clinic quickly became a favourite with the A-list and was a focus on Sky’s “Stitch Me, Lift Me, Tuck Me” documentary series.
The opening of Ballingdon Hall was a chance to merge a range of advanced skincare and aesthetics treatments in a stand-alone clinic within the grounds, alongside a variety of health and wellness programmes.
From injectables, skincare, and facials to help with a range of complaints, to a broad spectrum of retreats, you’ll find something to help you achieve your own personal goals. Each retreat focuses on a different topic – from health and wellbeing – to spiritual enlightenment. Complete with culinary excellence that is healthy and nutritious (and definitely delicious), you will leave feeling mentally lighter, de-stressed and with a purposeful new outlook for your health and wellness.
Forthcoming health and fitness retreats include yoga and meditation, men’s wellness and improving gut health, as well as a couples’ relationships retreat and others that navigate loss, stress, and anxiety.
No matter your level of interest in spirituality, psychic work or mediumship, there’s a workshop or retreat for you at Ballingdon Hall this year.
The Personal Wellness and Spiritual Enrichment programs are led by Lee Whyberd, one of the UK’s foremost mediums who has worked with royal families and celebrities across the world.
Spiritually-themed retreats include manifestation, chocolate healing, ancestral colour healing, learning reiki healing, releasing past life trauma, developing your intuition, and psychic development, with private readings often included.
A visit to Ballingdon Hall cannot be forgotten – and it is a place you will want to return to time and time again. Each visit will unfold something new within to help you on your personal journey in life.
