Douglas & Gordon searches for ambitious new partners as it innovates its way to growth

Douglas & Gordon is on a mission to recruit 50 new self-employed partners (an uplift of 100% year-on-year) in the coming 12 months.

While many high street agents struggle to adapt to increased National Insurance contributions and business rates from 1 April, Douglas & Gordon has continued to flex its model to power a ‘new era’ offering.

From property pros seeking more flexibility. To working parents, with a passion for real estate, the agency is contracting entrepreneurial individuals keen to bring ‘Selling Sunset’ or ‘Love It or List It’ vibes to their local neighbourhoods.

CEO James Evans is passionate about delivering results for buyers, sellers and investors through people. He spent a considerable amount of time in the US observing how a partner (or broker) models work, and said:

“Wearing a suit in a stuffy office from 8am-8pm is an outdated model for real estate. Today’s market conditions mean you need the best possible talent out there building relationships with buyers, sellers, landlords, investors and agents.

“Flexibility, investment in technology and reward are critical to empowering this army of go-getters.  It’s clear, we need to gear-up for growth in different ways. As a self-employed partner, you can make a significant amount of money, while building your own personal brand.

“We’re already seeing partners with property experience successfully building their own empires with the backing of our well-established infrastructure. Indeed, those going the extra mile to deliver great outcomes for their clients are already netting fees of over 100k a month”.

With nearly 50% of D&G partners counted as working parents or those with caring responsibilities, Evans added: “Flexibility is totally achievable with our model. So, we’re also interested in talking to school run stalwarts, living and socialising in local areas who have a good feel for the market.

These people can have service industry, not necessarily property experience. I’ve personally seen a real uplift in enquiries about the kinds of opportunities we’re offering from outside the industry as property series on TV remain as popular as ever and many see their outgoings spiral.”

New partners will have access to the agency’s extensive database of 400,000 customers. Plus, robust back-office support including its new technology platform and App (EDGE), library of documentation, training and generous marketing services.

Established in London, Douglas &Gordon is a leading real estate agency with over 65 years of experience in residential sales and lettings; property and tenancy management; and property investment and development.
