Rav Gill’s TTT Method: A Game Changer in the Combat Industry

Rav Gill’s TTT Method: A Game Changer in the Combat Industry

I was recently presented with a fantastic opportunity, thanks to an invitation by Rav Gill, to attend one of his highly sought-after 1-to-1 sessions. As a newcomer to the realm of combat sports, I was both excited and nervous about what the experience might entail. To my delight, I found that my concerns were quickly put to rest as I was greeted by Rav’s warm, vibrant, and approachable personality.

Throughout our session, Rav’s extensive knowledge and expertise in combat sports became increasingly evident as he meticulously observed and analyzed each movement I made. As a beginner, I was eager to learn the fundamentals of boxing techniques, and Rav ensured that I received a comprehensive understanding of the core concepts. He placed particular emphasis on the importance of footwork, skillfully demonstrating how mastering this vital aspect could significantly impact my overall performance in the ring.

Rav was an incredibly patient and supportive instructor, guiding me step by step through the process of learning footwork and various punches. His passion for teaching and attention to detail made the session truly engaging and enjoyable. By the end of our time together, I was left with a deep sense of satisfaction and accomplishment, as well as a newfound enthusiasm for exploring boxing and other martial arts further.

Having experienced Rav’s exceptional coaching firsthand, I wholeheartedly recommend his 1-to-1 sessions to anyone who is curious about delving into the world of boxing or other martial arts, regardless of their skill level or background. Now, without further ado, I am thrilled to share my experience and introduce you to the innovative TTT method, which is revolutionising the way we approach combat sports training.

The best of both worlds – Introducing the TTT method

The last 5 years has seen an explosion in the uptake of combat sports in the UK. From boxing through to Brazilian jiujitsu and kickboxing, martial arts classes are becoming as ubiquitous as spin classes at gyms across the nation.

Women have accounted for a large part of the rise in the uptake of combat sports, with 21% of boxing participants in the UK now being female.

Due to this sudden rise, many gyms across the UK now offer ‘combat classes’ such as boxfit where there is very little emphasis on technique or real-life application. Meanwhile, combat-focused gyms offer sparring classes heavily focused on fighting and technique but not on conditioning and are often intimidating for beginners.

The Tone Through Technique method

Developed by Rav Gill who has over 25 years of experience in kickboxing, self-defence, and as a professional boxing instructor, TTT places equal emphasis on technique, application and fitness.

As Rav explains: “It’s great to see so many people interested in martial arts today, especially women, as it is no longer considered a male only space. However, many classes today do not teach the fundamentals that are so important for any combat sport and are the base around which real life application relies. Other classes and fight gyms can be intimidating to newcomers. TTT takes the best of both in a fun, good humoured and safe one-to-one setting. One of the most important aspects of learning is not only ‘how’ you do something but ‘why’, a question that many trainers can’t answer in a busy class situation or due to lack of experience or knowledge.”

During a TTT session, you will learn everything from learning to wrap your hands through to advanced combinations and fighting techniques and sparring (should you choose to do so). However, this is a process and will be taught at a safe and controlled pace.

“Too many classes promise a quick fix, but this is misleading,” adds Rav. “As with most things, it takes time to build confidence and skill; but learning something as important as self-defence is not a sprint. People are surprised how mentally challenging something like boxing is, when taught correctly, but at the same time how rewarding.”

In addition to the technique and self-defence, Rav will incorporate intense conditioning, including weights and medicine ball work through to sledgehammer slams and sled pushes. Each session can burn between 400 and 800 calories per hour, ensuring not only an all-around workout for both the body and mind, but the acquiring of a hugely valuable new life skill.

Sessions can be taught one on one or with a friend and take place at a location of your choice or at Fight City Gym where you do not have to be a member at the gym to train with Rav.

Prices are as follows:

  • 60 for 45 mins
  • 80 for 1 hour
