Wimbledon 2027 public ballot opens with 14 September deadline

Wimbledon 2027 public ballot opens with 14 September deadline

The public ballot for tickets to The Championships 2027 is open, giving tennis fans a limited window to apply for a chance to attend next summer’s Wimbledon fortnight.

Applications opened on Tuesday 1 September and close at 23:59 BST on Monday 14 September. The ballot is open to applicants worldwide, rather than only to those in the UK.

High interest was evident shortly after applications opened, when an online queue was reported. But there is no benefit in rushing an application because tickets are allocated through an automated selection process, not according to when a form is submitted.

What applicants need to do

Anyone hoping to enter must use a myWimbledon account and complete a ballot application during the two-week window. Creating an account alone does not count as entering the ballot, so applicants should make sure they have completed the separate application process.

The ballot is designed to give applicants a random chance to be offered tickets. Entrants cannot ask for a particular day, court or seat: any offer is based on the best tickets available when selections are made.

  • Submit no more than one application per household.
  • Use one email address and one myWimbledon account for that application.
  • Complete the application before the 14 September deadline.
  • Do not assume that registering for myWimbledon has entered you in the draw.

Duplicate applications connected to the same household, email address or account are not permitted under the ballot rules. Applicants should therefore avoid making multiple submissions in an attempt to improve their prospects.

Selection does not guarantee tickets

Applying is not the same as buying a ticket. Wimbledon is an oversubscribed event, and the ballot is one route through which tickets are allocated. Those selected may be offered tickets, but the choice of session and court is not made by the applicant.

Ticket holders are also subject to transfer restrictions. Apart from authorised resale of debenture tickets, tickets must not be sold, advertised for sale or advertised for transfer. Wimbledon says tickets found to have been advertised in this way will be void.

People who do not enter the ballot, or whose applications are unsuccessful, may still have other official ways to seek access. These include tickets available on the day through The Queue, which includes premium seats on Centre Court and No.1 Court, as well as advance hospitality packages offered through the tournament’s official provider. Unsuccessful ballot applicants are also intended to receive access to the returns shop ahead of the Championships.

A separate route for eligible tennis members

The public ballot should not be confused with the separate Wimbledon ballot run for eligible members of the Lawn Tennis Association. That process has its own entry arrangements and is distinct from the public draw, meaning eligible people may enter both under the relevant rules.

For the general public, however, the immediate date to note is 14 September. With no preference for early submissions, applicants have until 23:59 BST that day to complete one valid application and wait for the selection process.
