Eggslut is a gourmet food chain that is renowned for its soft and comforting egg sandwiches. With three locations in London, Eggslut offers delicious sandwiches suitable for any time of the day. I recently had the opportunity to visit the Eggslut location in Notting Hill on a Sunday lunchtime and was pleasantly surprised by the experience.
The atmosphere was busy and lively, which is always a good sign when looking for good food. I decided to try the Cheeseburger, which contained ground angus beef, cage-free over medium egg, caramelized onions, bread and butter pickles, cheddar cheese, and dijonnaise in a warm brioche bun. The brioche bun was incredibly fluffy on the inside and tasted amazing with the juices from the angus beef. The first bite was quite a mess as the egg yolk squirted out, but that just added to the fun. The egg was cooked to perfection and blended well with the rest of the ingredients.

In addition to the Cheeseburger, I also ordered the truffle hashbrowns with duck fat, truffle and rosemary salt. The hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the truffle and rosemary salt added a nice touch of flavour. I highly recommend dipping the hashbrowns into the egg yolk as it tasted amazing and the slight saltiness from the rosemary salt finished it off beautifully.

The Fresh Orange Juice on the menu caught my attention and I was curious to see if it was actually fresh. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was indeed fresh and not just another bottle of Tropicana like many other restaurants serve. The orange juice was served with ice cubes, which was perfect for me, but personal preference may vary.
Overall, I was extremely happy with my experience at Eggslut and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different and eggcellent. The combination of soft, comforting egg sandwiches and delicious truffle hashbrowns made for an unforgettable meal. If you’re looking for a brunch spot or a quick and tasty lunch option, Eggslut is definitely worth a visit.
