Nestled within the sophisticated Chelsea district of London, the Sloane Place Restaurant and The Hideaway at Sloane Place offer a charming dining and imbibing experience. Set inside the elegant Boutique Hotel, the restaurant promises a cosy, intimate atmosphere, whilst The Hideaway, tucked away downstairs beneath the restaurant, invites you to uncover its hidden delights. Indeed, The Hideaway truly lives up to its name as a hidden gem, and we wholeheartedly believe you’ll be amazed by the enchanting atmosphere it offers below the bustling streets of London.
Upon entering the Sloane Place Restaurant, we were immediately embraced by its warm and inviting ambience. Raindrops outside the large window only added to the feeling of romance, evoking a sense of being part of a classic film. The staff, exuding genuine warmth and attentiveness, seamlessly catered to our every need. As for the venue itself, the meticulously designed interior showcased the unique character of the Chelsea area, harmoniously blending elegance and charm to further enhance the overall dining experience.
Venturing into The Hideaway, we descended the staircase to discover a modern speakeasy that masterfully blended contemporary style with classic elegance. The dark green seats, cushioned ceilings, and mirrored walls created a cosy, yet chic atmosphere that encapsulated the essence of a true hideaway. With live music on offer, including DJ nights on Fridays and Saturdays, and solo musicians on Wednesdays, The Hideaway is the perfect spot for a clandestine rendezvous with friends or a date.
The dining experience at Sloane Place was nothing short of delightful. The London Cured Scottish Salmon starter was incredibly fresh and elevated by a simple yet sophisticated cloth-covered lemon. The Burrata, with its cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, pesto, and rocket leaves, was a mouthwatering delight, and the Crispy Duck Spring Rolls with hoisin sauce left us wishing we had ordered more.
Our main courses continued the culinary journey, with a Seafood and Basil Risotto that was packed with native lobster, Devon crab, tiger prawns, and squid. The Slow Roasted Duck Confit, served with braised red cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and cranberry jus, was beautifully cooked and exquisitely balanced. Sides of Skinny Chips and Truffled Parmesan Chips did not disappoint either.
Dessert was a dream, as we indulged in a Flourless Chocolate Brownie with popcorn and ice cream, and a Caramelised Pineapple Carpaccio with mango sorbet and spiced coconut crumble. The flavours danced on our taste buds, leaving us completely satisfied.
The Hideaway’s bar, with its Zero-Proof cocktails, impressed us as well. We tried the Blossom, a refreshing concoction of Seedlip Spice 42, ginger syrup, lemon juice, ginger beer, and fresh mint. We also took a leap of faith, asking the bartender to surprise us with a drink, which resulted in a tantalising creation that we’ll leave for you to discover on your own.
In conclusion, the Sloane Place Restaurant and The Hideaway at Sloane Place offer a captivating and memorable experience that will enchant your senses. Whether it’s the intimate setting, the delectable cuisine, or the alluring cocktails, you’ll undoubtedly find something to love at this hidden gem in London. The Hideaway’s location beneath the restaurant truly adds to the allure of this extraordinary venue. So why not discover the secret for yourself and explore the wonders that await you below?
