This bank holiday, celebrate with cocktails, perfect for making to impress friends and family.
Uhuru (uhuru.com), the spirits brand making a difference to African wildlife conservation, have created a range of animal-themed cocktails.
The Quagga
First up, inspired by the Quagga – a species of Zebra – Uhuru’s Quagga cocktail is their twist on a chocolate milkshake, also featuring their Whisky. Here’s hoping for sunshine this weekend!

Ingredients
50ml Uhuru Whisky
2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
50ml cream
Dark chocolate for garnish
Method
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Drizzle melted chocolate around the inside of a tumbler glass and pour in the mixture.
Grate over some dark chocolate and serve.
Coco Coqui

A great way to prepare for guests, Uhuru’s Coco Coqui can be made by the batch – a sweet drink with a creaminess that offers a slightly more warming drink over the Easter weekend – just in case the sun isn’t shining! Made with Uhuru’s Rum, garnish with nutmeg.
Ingredients
440ml cream of coconut
340ml evaporated milk
420ml condensed milk
340ml full-fat coconut milk
700ml Uhuru Rum
1 tablespoon vanilla extract or vanilla paste
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch nutmeg
Method
Working in batches, pour in the milks and cream of coconut into the blender and puree until silky. Set aside in a large bowl.
Using a small quantity of the mixture as a base (it’s easiest to do this in a separate mug or jug) blend Uhuru Rum, vanilla and cinnamon and stir it into the bowl.
Funnel the liquid into bottles, jars, pitchers, jerricans, carafes, fill pots or whatever else you might have on hand and refrigerate.
Shake or stir and strain into serving glasses.
Add a pinch of nutmeg for garnish
The Splendid Toadfish
Another classic with a twist, Uhuru’s The Splendid Toadfish puts a spin on a classic slushy, with the addition of Uhuru Rum. Perfect for the upcoming bank holidays, The Splendid Toadfish brings tropical flavours to celebrations in the sun.

Ingredients
25ml Uhuru Rum
10ml blue curacao
10ml Triple Sec
30ml pineapple juice
Lime
1tbs sugar
Ice
Method
Add all ingredients to a blender and squeeze in the lime.
Blend until the ice is crushed.
Pour into a glass and watch out for the brain freeze.
