The moment had finally arrived; I found myself standing before the W London Gaming Suite – the UK’s first-ever gaming suite – which opened its doors on 16th November 2022, with YouTube star Vikkstar123 as its first esteemed guest. This luxurious corner suite was priced from £1,500 per night, and the anticipation was palpable as I prepared to enter what could only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Located just off Leicester Square in the bustling heart of London, the W London Gaming Suite offered breathtaking views of the city’s iconic skyline, with landmarks like St. Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye and the Shard visible in the distance. The floor-to-ceiling windows and the king-sized bed positioned in the corner of the suite provided a stunning 90-degree view of the square below, making it the perfect vantage point for watching the sun rise and set.
From the moment I entered the suite, I was captivated by its unique and inviting atmosphere. My eyes were immediately drawn to the striking red leather modern sofa and the impressive gaming setup, nestled in a corner. The bold sofa colour stood out against the blue carpet, adding a unique flair that I couldn’t help but admire. The gaming setup, featuring a massive 55-inch Samsung Odyssey Ark monitor, an Xbox Series X, and a CyberPower PC, was prominently displayed and inviting. Complemented by a Secret Lab TITAN Evo gaming chair and Hyper X accessories, the suite was truly a gamer’s paradise.
As I ventured further into the spacious suite, I was greeted by music playing in both the living room and bedroom, adding a mysterious yet cool touch to the experience. The different songs playing in each room created a dynamic atmosphere that enhanced my sense of discovery while exploring the luxurious Gaming Suite and all of its thoughtful touches.
My journey then led me to the suite’s impressive bathroom, boasting an oversized bathtub, double shower, and two toilets on opposite sides of the room. The his-and-hers sinks, illuminated by cool purple LED lights beneath the island, added an extra touch of style. The room’s air conditioning worked flawlessly, ensuring a comfortable stay throughout.
Continuing my exploration, I was delighted to find two large TVs in the living room and bedroom, allowing me to enjoy my favourite films and shows wherever I felt most comfortable. My excitement grew as I ventured further and discovered a delightful surprise on the living room table – a plate filled with mini edible PS3 and Xbox controllers, macarons, chocolates, and fruit, accompanied by a welcome card with my name on it. This creative and thoughtful touch brought a smile to my face, adding an extra layer of excitement to the entire light-hearted and enjoyable experience.
During my gaming session, I took advantage of the iPads provided in the suite to control the lighting, temperature, and even order food. The air conditioning worked like a charm, ensuring that I remained comfortable throughout my stay. The W London Gaming Suite offered a unique Brain Booster Menu featuring dishes like Crispy Fried Chicken Bao Buns and Power-Up Beef Sliders, as well as invigorating beverages like the Liquid Gold Potion and Fuel Smoothie. These delightful concoctions not only satisfied my hunger but also helped me maintain my focus during my gaming marathon.
I played GTA V, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Warzone, all at full graphics, and the powerful gaming PC handled everything effortlessly without any issues. The enormous 55-inch Odyssey monitor provided an incredibly immersive experience, putting my usual 27-inch monitor at home to shame. This colossal display exceeded my expectations and gave me an exhilarating gaming experience that tempted me to invest in a similar setup for my own home. The sense of being on the edge of my seat as I played on this massive screen truly made the entire experience unforgettable.
In addition to the top-notch gaming setup, the suite was fully equipped for streaming, boasting streaming lights and two camera setups ready for action. Although I didn’t stream during my stay, it was clear that this feature would be perfect for streamers visiting from afar who wished to keep up with their chat and bring their audience along with them as they discovered new places. The W London Gaming Suite truly catered to every aspect of the gaming experience, making it an ideal destination for gamers and streamers alike.
The following morning, I ventured downstairs to enjoy breakfast in the visually stunning and thoughtfully designed dining area. High ceilings, mesmerising lighting, and painted plates on the walls created an enchanting atmosphere that elevated the entire dining experience. I indulged in the recommended Avocado on Sourdough toast with perfectly poached eggs and crispy bacon, accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice – a delicious and refreshing start to the day. The impeccable quality of the breakfast was yet another testament to the exceptional attention to detail and care put into every aspect of the W London experience.
With a 12 pm check-out time, I had plenty of opportunities to have a nice lie-in or to game into the early afternoon, making the most of my stay in this incredible suite. The late check-out provided a much-appreciated reprieve for a typical gamer like myself who wanted to extend the fun as much as possible before saying goodbye to this fantastic experience.
