Digital fitness startup Another Round, has hired Jesse Shanahan as the CTO of the company. Jesse brings a wealth of experience in data science and tech innovation to the company, including a strong history in developing and leading projects with a focus on delivering machine learning and artificial intelligence products. The new appointment of Jesse as Another Round CTO is effective immediately.
Set up in 2018 by Max Cotton, an ex-professional MMA fighter turned fitness tech entrepreneur, Another Round applies its proprietary artificial intelligence to personal training, making it more accessible, convenient and effective than ever.
At Another Round, Jesse will further the technical innovation at the company, by leading and growing the technical team and strengthening the training methodology. Her business expertise and understanding of the implications of using new technology will bolster Another Round’s executive team, growth, and market position.
Prior to joining Another Round, Jesse was the Technical Lead of Applied AI at Peltarion, an AI software company that in June 2022 was acquired by the video game developer King, where she focused on democratising AI. With an academic background in linguistics and astrophysics, she worked as a data scientist and in previous roles focused on AI ethics and AI for humanitarian aid, as well as aerospace, and healthcare.

The appointment of Jesse as CTO follows the company’s recent funding announcement of Pure Gym founder Peter Roberts and the wider team investing a six-figure sum into the fitness startup.

The team of six, headquartered in South London, which was bootstrapped from launch, raised its first round of investment in 2021, mostly from angels and its members. Following 25k+ workouts completed by members and four years of data, it’s now raising its third round of investment, including the welcoming of fitness industry icons.
