Free London event: Noahfinnce talks music and mental health with BBC 6 Music’s Nemone Metaxas

Punk pop artist NOAHFINNCE will join BBC Radio 6 Music DJ and therapist Nemone Metaxas for an intimate conversation about music, mental health and his own experience of therapy at The Art House in London on Saturday 14th November.

When: Saturday 14th November, 12:00pm
Where: The Art House, 30-36 Pritchards Road, London, E2 9AP
Tickets: Free; book using this link.

The free event is part of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s (BACP) Therapy Sessions, a series of live conversations exploring the relationship between music, mental health and therapy.

In conversation with Nemone Metaxas (BBC Radio 6 Music presenter, DJ and BACP registered therapist), NOAHFINNCE will discuss how his own experiences have shaped his songwriting, and how therapy has helped him. The pair will talk about the importance of processing difficult emotions and how human connection can help us make sense of how we feel.

NOAHFINNCE highlights why he’s taking part in BACP’s Therapy Sessions series:

“Music has always been a way for me to get stuff out and make sense of what’s going on in my head. But I got to a point where I needed help understanding it too.

“Therapy helped me understand why I react the way I do and realise that some things I’d convinced myself were fine had actually affected me quite a lot. Understanding that doesn’t suddenly fix everything, but having someone to talk it through with has really helped.

“I’m taking part in BACP’s Therapy Sessions because I want to talk honestly about that, and how it feeds into my music. Hopefully, hearing about my experience will make talking to a therapist feel a bit less intimidating. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start.”

Whether you’re a fan of NOAHFINNCE’s music or curious about what therapy is actually like, join us at this event.
